10 November 2026 to coincide with World Science Day for Peace and Development
WHO is spearheading Together for Science & Health, a global movement that brings together scientists, policy-makers, health professionals, communicators, civil society organizations, young people and communities around a shared commitment to science as a foundation for better health.
Launching on 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development, the movement aims to strengthen connections between science, policy and society, promoting evidence-informed decision-making, meaningful public engagement and effective science communication to improve health and well-being for all.
WHO and partners will convene two high level events in Paris and Geneva, bringing together leaders from health, science, government, academia, civil society and international organizations.
Geneva Launch: 10 November 2026, 9:00-12:30 CEST, Campus Biotech, Geneva, Switzerland
Held on the opening day of the Geneva Health Forum, the Geneva launch will examine how scientific evidence can better inform public policy and how participatory approaches can bring science, policy and society closer together. The event will also highlight practical approaches to evidence-informed and participatory policy-making and invite organizations and partners to join the movement.
Detailed programmes, speakers and agendas for both events will be published on this page closer to the date of the launch.

Paris Launch: 10 November 2026, 14:30-15:30 CEST, Paris Peace Forum, France
The Paris launch will bring together participants from across the science, policy, communication and health communities to examine how public policy can keep pace with the transformation of the health information landscape and ensure that scientific evidence informs the choices available to younger generations. It will explore the respective roles of governments, the scientific community, media and technology actors in shaping an information environment conducive to informed health decisions. The discussion will seek to identify priorities for research and action that reflect both the opportunities offered by digital technologies and the responsibilities involved in shaping the environments in which children grow up.
The event will be livestreamed on the Paris Peace Forum event page, and further details will be made available on this page, closer to the date of the launch.
In addition, many other events and activities will be held by WHO partners and entities who affiliated to the launch. This information will be made available closer to the date of the launch.
